Rooms + Facilities
About the nursery
At St Josephs Nursery, we make the safety and security of the children our top priority. We have a secure access system in place to prevent unauthorised entry as well as CCTV operating 24/7. We also have off road parking which means your children never have to be on the road at any point during a drop-off or collection.
We have also made the nursery into a vibrant and interactive environment that stimulates young minds and makes it a place they enjoy coming to.
The nursery has 3 main rooms, 1 for babies,1 for toddlers and 1 for pre-school. Each one is themed to make it as attractive and stimulating as possible.
Baby Room
The Caterpillar Room
The baby room is neutral in colour creating a comforting and calming effect, it has a change table with our babies individual basket, it has blackout blinds for when our babies need to nap, high/low chairs for snack and dinner time.
The baby rooms internal layout provides the best possible safe learning environment for our babies.
Each baby is unique and very special. We plan a curriculum based on each child’s individual needs helping to challenge and stimulate the minds of our Babies.
We have a daily routine leading to less stress for our babies, giving them a feeling of security and control.
The babies are encouraged to use their fine motor skill (holding a spoon, pincer grasp) and gross motor skills i.e walking ready for their transition into toddler room.
Toddler & Preschool Rooms
The Ladybug and Butterfly Rooms
Our toddler and pre-school rooms are bright, fun and inviting and provide the children with lots of space as these are the biggest rooms in the nursery.
We provide our children with lots of different opportunities to learn covering all areas of development using different areas in the room to cover interests of all children. While children are having fun, our curriculum is the driving force to ensure all childrens needs are met and childrens individual interests are at the heart of our planning.
Every planned activity we do with the children alongside spontaeneous activities is to prepare them for their next step… big school. We have very strong links with schools in the surrounding area and work closely with the parents throughout the year. This will include parents evenings, newsletters and our pre-school homework packs. Our daily routine gives children a sense of security and increased sense of responsibility and independence. This will include beginning to find their own names when arriving at nursery, managing self help skills and forming special friendships.
As the children approach their fourth birthday, therefore getting ready for the transition to school, the staff will plan and design activities around each childs own individual development needs to further those skills for school readiness.
